Later Model Felicia suspension and hubs on a pickup/old style felicia

Featured Replies

Is it possible to put the suspension from a later model felicia on the older style? because the newer ones are much easier to source and also they look much better. would i need to just get the shock with the hub and brakes? or are the driveshafts different sizes also?

many thanks

Neilos

they are exactly the same mate, although if yours has abs you will need to source the hubs from an abs model becasue the abs ones have an extra hole drilled in them for the sensor

erm not quite sure what you are asking here as all the felicia suspension is the same the only differance is the bigger engines ie 1.6 and diesel have antiroll bars and stronger springs on the front, the favorits use a different strut and spring as the spring seat is higher and spring shorter but if youswap as complete unit you could fit felicia ones.. pickups are different on the rear and not interchangeable between fav and felicia

cheers

the brakes and the hubs etc are the same... unless somebody has been fiddling with it

steering racks are the same across the range irrespective of year, manual (top), power (bottom)

nah its def a felicia. just the one with the grille. i must have been mistaken. perhaps because someone once told me that skoda changed the front shocks when they released the facelift model because the early ones were not up to the job. the bloke who told me that was no mechanic but these things stick in your head! anyway thanks for your help! i'll get the yard to take off rack and complete drop arms from new shape to bolt on my pickup and get it back on road!

ps felicia16v i hope to see you out in your 16v sometime as i only live just out of stretton. I wonder if you have ever seen my pickup about it's pretty tatty but someone has at one time had it done in a blue/purple flip paint! :) luxury!...

all done now. took rack and suspension legs with brakes and all. all went on no probs. tracked up yesterday.

For the record, a change in the damper spec is most likely to mean changes in the valving, and/or a couple of mm on the damper body diameter. You can't see the valves, and you'd need to measure the body to (dis)prove a change in OD. You certainly won't see a difference in the damper spec by examining the wheel hubs and/or stub axles.
