Handbrake button

Featured Replies

Hi after many miles of prodding and poking at dashvoard and trim I have finally found the answer to an annoying intermittant rattle from car interior. turns out to be the hanbrake release button! now obviously i can not drive around holding onto it although probably easier.

Any body else had and rectified this? or does anybody know best way to fix or even how to remove handbrake cover? Any advise greatly received.

The most common fix is to stick something in the gap :D I used bit of double sided Foam sticky but only removed the paper from one side, then slid it into the gap as best I could and stuck it to the button. Does need replacing now and again but defo works to stop the rattle. I agree it is possible one of the worst noises for annoyance ever. :D

Get some silcon grease, the clear thick stuff and use a bit of that or vasaline does the trick !

Had to do it to both of my cars
