So i should steer clear of high milers? does seem to have been maintained well. But like you say, plenty out there, maybe i'll hold out for a better deal.

And.... personally i think the vRS looks best in silver!

You can never tell with that sort of mileage... If it has been

well looked after it could have plenty of mileage left on it yet :)

why do people give stupid excuses for sellin all the time....

I'd never buy a car without a test drive, no matter what the reason. Seems odd to say he won't even let family drive it, but is selling it because his girlfriend can't get insured. Not questioning the guy's motives, just the consistency of the advert.

Good point there, does seem rather strange that doesn't it? Oh well, each to their own, will hold out for a better example....

What sort of budget do you have in mind? As know of a really low mileage mint one ;) but depends on your budget......

my budget is 2.5-3k, so im not sure it will accomodate for a very low mileage example... how much you wanting?

this is my car, i'm selling to purchase a mk4 golf so the girlfriend can get insured as they wont touch her on this, and i dont let anyone drive it yes that includes family, its my pride and joy and wouldnt let any dreamers come and abuse it, anyone would be welcome to come prod and poke as much as they wanted theres nothing to hide on the car. i'm just very particular trusting someone with it i dont even know, always been genuine on here and as you can see i do work for tps (skoda) so everything in the listing ie genuine parts is true, truth be told i want a mk2 vrs and the funds from her car will go towards one

is the turbo spooling and the car now boosting as it should? what was the problem in the end?

changed N75 valve now runs perfect. at the end of the day i dont mind anybody having an opinion on the car, yes its up on miles but doing 12k a year would make it about right, if i'd had anything to hide i've had tried to convince you all this person seems genuine etc etc, but i'm honest enough to know you can check every post i've made about the car

i see none of the sceptics from the earlier posts have had anymore posts ;)

I rekon you should buy mine, it's a bit higher than your budget but it's alot of car for the money, and well looked after

There's nothing wrong with high milers if they've been well maintained.

Mine has almost hit 125k and runs close to 190bhp with NO modifications, no turbo issues, nothing wrong with it at the moment apart from it needs a new thermostat.

Mate of mine has one almost at 140k and it's still in tip top condition, was remapped last year and hasn't had any trouble with it despite the map putting pressure on what you'd think would be a knackered old engine!

i see none of the sceptics from the earlier posts have had anymore posts ;)

Nothing more to add - I get your explanation of that inconsistency and I'm sure the car's straight, but still think you're going to struggle if you don't allow test drives :)

but to be fair people tend to buy on ebay without test driving, i bought the octy without ever driving it and its turned out to be a great car, some might say its more luck than judgement, i just think presuming 'the turbo will be knackered' without knowing anything about the car is very harsh

I have seen this car & Its a good clean example. With Billy working at TPS everything that has needed doing has been done with genuine OE parts ;)

Oh yeah, assumptions about how well a car has been maintained are unfair - I definitely agree with that, especially when a few searches would turn up a slice of history.

Right people, picked up my vRS on Sunday - it's a 53 plate, 108k on the clock, full service history, 8 months of MOT/TAX, a good motor for what i paid.

My question now is where can i take it for a health check? got a few niggles i think need checking. seems slightly hesitant at times, although turbo spools as it should when it does.

CD Changer worked intermittently for the first day, and has now stopped working completely, common issue?

So i'm based up in Manchester, anybody local know these cars well? Although i should be in Birmingham for the next 3/4 days so anybody around there would be a hand too...

Thinking i may just pop down to MRCTuning for a health check, used them regularly for S4 tuning, unless anbody can recommend another specialist? Or maybe if anybody is willing to lend me an hour of their time, would appreciate it.

Awesome GTI in Irlam :)
