Lumpy vRS

Evening,

My Octy has thrown a hissy fit tonight. It is idling lumpy and when trying to drive normally if you hit 2k revs it stutters. Am I looking at possible coil pack death here?

It could be, or the MAF. Try unplugging it to see :)

Unplugged MAF and same thing I also get a nice eggy smell from the exhaust

I've just been reading about this because the car's been playing up a bit and all the symptoms you describe point to coli pack failure.

I think my problem is MAF though :(

Well unplugged each coil pack in turn No1 I get pop pop noise, No 2 Nowt, No3 Nowt, No4 pop pop noise I guess I need 2 new coil packs then!!

Strange that 2 have gone at the same time?

You got through to Vag-Com yet? If it's coil related you should have some errors, and it will point you to which cylinder(s).

lumpy idle is more likely a vac leak, check the breather pipe on the right hand side of the engine first. After that there are lots of posts about vac/boost leak fault finding HTH :D
