As the title says has anyone tuned their superb diesel. Ok theres the obvious remaps but what about decats, increasing the boost preasure, changing the intercooler, intake mods and does anyone know if there are lower break pressure injectors available?

Is it a 1.9 130 or the later 140 bhp. If a 140 it has a DPF so tuning will be seriously limited without ditching the DPF, Im not sure if anyones done this yet. If its the 130 bhp theres loads of options

Not sure you're going to find much on this buddy. A little extra straight line power is gotten by most just by a remap. Some tweak the handling by dropping the suspension too. In the everyday real World it's usually enough. The engines are capable of more but on a Superb, why bother? You'd be adding more power to a car that, well to be fair, doesn't have race car handling characteristics. It does end to wallow in the corners a bit. Most people buy a Superb for the cabin size and cruising capability. You're bound to have WAY more luck finding the info you're looking for on the Octavia or Fabia side of the forums. The Fabias have the same 130bhp engines but being a much smaller car when the chassis is tightended up they are more capable of handling it in the bends. A few chaps on there with custom turbos, cams, intercoolers etc etc. From a modification point of view I think it's a better baseline to start from. All could be applied to the Superb 130bhp I guess but it's quite rare as far as I know.

Incidentally, you're never going to get the same performance figures from a Superb as you get from your bike, if your username is anything to go by. :rofl: Check out the Fabia section, might find information easier to come by there fella. :thumbup:

Ok thanks for that I'll check them out. I used to have a rover 45 td and on the mgrover forum there was quite a good group who and a diesel specific forum/section. I know they wallow lots in the corners, but would be looking for better acceration more than anything, I like to have a standard looking car that you can embaress hotter cars with away from the lights ;) . I know with the rover just with the cat removed, an increase in boost and some lower break pressure injectors it was quicker accellerating than the superb. Theres a hill near where I live and the superb is some 5 - 10 mph down on the rover.

Yeah you're right about the bike thats tweeked a little aswell k1 with 120 at the back wheel :thumbup:

Easy way to get more power from the 130 Tdi is to fit a Dutch built DPT device. It stands for Diesel Power Tuning.

I've had one for about a year and a half and wouldn't be without it. However i had it fitted for fuel economy reasons

and by boosting the low-down torque hugely it means i can pull a higher gear most of the time and my consumption has

improved by 10 to 12% (it varies).

It has the added bonus of pushing out almost 160BHP as well.

It plugs into the ECU output and changes the signals to give the engine more oomph.

If it should fail the ECU simply carries on putting out it's 130bhp data.

It can also be removed, reprogrammed by the technician who fitted it and installed in your new car if you should happen to

change cars.

Marvellous really and no I'm not a DPT salesman, just a Very satisfied customer.

If it is the 130pd tdi engine bluefin can up it to at least 165bhp maybe a bit more...if it's the 140 then forget it as you have to get over the diesel particulate filter first

A simple decent map sounds like just what your after, Boost the power to 170/180ish bhp, soon get you shifting better, and I'm sure the torque will help too

MINES REMAPPED BY JABBA, CURRENTLY RUNNING 166PHP AND 292 TORQUES, BETTER ON JUICE TOO. CURRENT IMAGINE NOT HAVING THE REMAP ON IT NOW. IF I COULD SOURCE AN EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR THE RIGHT MONEY. i WOULD GO FOR A CUSTOM REMAP AND HOPEFULLY TRY AND REACH THE 190 CLUB AT A PUSH.
