Roomster Climate Control is awful

Featured Replies

I have had a Roomster III 1.9TDI for just over a year now. In almost every other way it is a wonderful car but its semi-automatic climate control is a disaster - by far the worst heater of any car I have ever had. In winter it seems to have only three settings: Off, Freezing and Roasting.

At its first service I asked for it to be checked, but it seems that this is the way it is expected to behave.

Has anyone any idea how to select "Warm"? By manually switching it on and off frequently it is possible to approximate to what a normal heater could provide but that is tiring and unsafe. Mostly, I just settle for "Off".

It's so bad I would even pay to have it replaced or modified. Has anyone any ideas?

Try the Roomster forum as most people here, like me, have an Octavia. If it is anything like SWMBO Getz, just leave the rotary control on warm.

Good luck anyway, the Octavia Climatronic is also generating debate.
