New wheels (maybe)

Featured Replies

hi guys, im considering a set of new 18" alloys and was after some advice / pictures.

i have 2002 octavia vrs in silver and just wanted know if any of you have 18" rims and how the car drives with them fitted. do you loose the ride comfort etc

and if any of you have some pictures to show me that would be good.

i have seen these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-R8-ALLOY-WHEELS-AND-TYRES-AUDI-VW-SEAT-SKODA_W0QQitemZ120532340242QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET?hash=item1c10498e12

and i think thats the kind of look im after or if you have any other recommendations i would be happy to see them.

i quite like the idea of a bit of black in the rims just to break it up.

idealy it would be nice to see some photos of your cars with 18" rims fitted to getter a better idea.

thanks for your help

nick

thanks kenny, excuse my ignorance but what is pcd?

they look seriously smart, right up my street. B) what kind of money are you lookimg at for a set like that?

I paid £625 with the tyres (KU31) But my mate works for wheel sellers. Where in the country are you?

Look ok to me but ring and ask what make of tyre they would be using and ask to upgrade if they do. Will ring my mate 2moro and get a price for you. Thinking now weather i paid £625 or £425 for mine. Will find out for ya mate.

thanks mate, how is the ride affected if any? is it still a nice smooth ride or do the larger wheels ruin it?

Had coilovers fitted at same time so can't 100% say.

All lower profile tyres will cause a difference thats for sure but i wouldn't say mine now even with the coilovers is harsh at all

i expected there to be a little change in the ride, i was just hoping that it didnt change it dramatically.

to be honest i really like those wheels and im gonna have to get them now anyway B)

Recently fitted 18inch rs6 reps on mine and still have standard suspension. Obviously with the lower profile you feel the road surface a bit more but it has not been what i call a drastic difference and still comfortable.

Hope that helps and should be able to post pic if you needed

create an account on something like photobucket(it's free) save you pics to it and then you can upload the links to the briskoda site.

You can also just upload JPEG type files staright from the attach menu on here although there is a limit on size and pixel quality. You can do this when replying to messages by selecting the advanced section.

I am sure there is a how to on this site in the main home page somewhere
