cheers nice to see a lot of proud owners here

Welcome from a fellow 4X4 owner. emoticon-0100-smile.gif I have moved your query to the Octavia I forum where you are more likely to get the advice you seek.

Do you have an Owner's Manual for your car? If not, you can download an official one from Skoda via the link below:

http://ws.skoda-auto...wnersManual.pdf

See pages 31 and 32 for information on the engine oil warning light.

I'd get it checked by a garage ASAP.

There have been a few posts on here recently about blocked oil pickups on the 1.8T engine, the oil level may look fine but the oil is not getting pumped to the top of the engine. If I were you I wouldn't drive the car with the light on (or flashing) as running it with no oil going to the top end will screw your engine.

The garage will drain the oil out, remove the sump and check the oil pickup and pump for any blockages.

Edit: this is a recent thread...
