Columbus and Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi All

Have done a few searches on this and need a bit more information please

I have a 2007 vRS and have had a Columbus unit retrofitted, however the parking sensors work but do not come up on the display?

Could someone advise how you get the optical display to work as it did with my stream unit?

Idiot speak would also be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I'm not sure but I don't think the visual display of the parking sensors will come up on the columbus display, though I could be wrong and someone will come along and say that it can be done with a software/firmware upgrade.

You need to change your parking controller (ECU) for a later version and add a bit of re-wiring into the CANBUS. Of course, you'll need acces to VCDS as well.

You can buy the Ecu and can wire for about €40.00 and you can buy same from a website

in the Czech Republic (www.skodateile.cz)

To give you a rough idea of what is involved have a look at this website http://www.passat3c.info/cms_neu/index.php?page=166

I think i might be in German but the website will automatically translate it for you.

If you are thinking of buying the ECU email the guy in the Czech Republic with your VIN number to

make sure your parking sensors will work with the new ECU.
