Help! - new AUQ cylinder head

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

A few weeks back I had the dreaded 1.8T oil blockage. No oil was getting to the top end, result - seized cams and bent valves. :(

I am now looking for a recon or new cylinder head, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with Bridge Cylinder Heads? Any recommendations of other suppliers?

Cheers,

Nick

Your location might help with responses

I'm guessing the small port 20v VVT head was common across more engine codes than just the AUQ, so that might help open up your options a bit. God knows how you'd find that out though! VAGCAT would probably be a good start.

Go down to your local Skoda garage and get them to give you prices with part numbers. That should help you. The price will probably make you laugh though!!

I'm located in Edinburgh, if that helps.

When it first happened I went to the local skoda garage and without even looking they were trying to flog me a recon engine for £4k! thiefs! Luckily the bottom end is fine, so it looks like a new cylinder head is all that is needed.

I am ideally looking for a recon/reman head with some warranty. Anyone have any experience with remanufacturers? Cheers.

Here in Romania you can get it fixed for about 300 EUR... don't know if this helps though...

part number you want mate is an 06A 103 351 L or skoda list it as 06A 103 265 GX for the recon unit, i wont bore you with the price :o
