Wheel Spacers

Featured Replies

I'm fancying fitting some spacers to the rear wheels. I saw a Cupra R with them and it improved the look a lot

Has anyone fitted them to their vRS? If so do you have any pics? Any downsides? Any you can recommend

Downsides -

Increased bearing wear, possibility of stability issues when trying to drive in a straight line, possible wheel - arch clearance issues (depending on wheel and tyre combo, size of spacer).

Cheers for that they look perfect! has anyone got spacers fitted? If so, do you have any pics, and do you have any issues with them?

Im running standard 17" spiders with a 30mm drop

Had 15m spacers on my ibiza cupra for a year with no probs at all. sorted the looks out as well. Do it!

Once iv sorted out my boost and creaking, im going to Deck mine on coilovers and space the standard 17's out a little

I was looking to do this, I think it would well sort out the stance.

I've got standard spiders with a little drop on vRS, how wide can you go with no scrubbing but still be non-stressful (so to speak)?

10mm max without arches been done might be less if running 225 tyres

i run 15mm spacers on the front and get slight scrubbing on occasion, am looking for 5-10mm spacers on the rear. Better for handling to have wider track onfront than on rear.

Also essential to get hubcentric spacers, those universal ones will probably wobble.

It can't be that much cost to have the arches rolled? £50 each side?

That should be totally ok with 20mm on the front then?

What's the handling like, noticeable?

its down to the offset of my wheels, they fill out the arches properly, they only touch on full compression of the suspension because its low. I will be raising it 5mm soon anyway. No adverse affect to handling running spacers, i need them to cover the brembos anyway.

(meant to say 15mm not 20mm.......have gone through several sets lately and have several pairs in my garage as a result!)

Came across this

Anyone got one??

And then this

lol, its only the liner anyway not the arch that touches

I run 10mm hubcentric spacers all round. The reason being I need the alloys to clear my Porsche calipers. Even though I have 18" alloys the et Is38 like the standard alloys & the spacers bring the alloys out lovely & they don't rub on the arches.

so basically, 20mm is too much? If I can get hold of some 10mm spacers they'll make it loook better without ruining the drive / ride of the car

i think you can just depending on your setup, you can fit 15mm too.
