Symphony not changing AF

The Symphony unit on my vRS SE sometimes doesn't seem to change the frequency to a stronger signal. AF is set to on yet Radio 2 (which is a strong signal) fades to nothing sometimes on my journey to work. Yet on other days it works OK.
