Is it possible to remove the rear strengthening bars in the boot of the vRS, just behind the rear seats and replace with an upper rear strut brace?

Reasons being a) I think they are unsightly, and it's useless for getting long, wide items into the rear load space with the rear seats down.

If so, are there specific ones for the Octavia or will a Golf unit be a direct fit?

Seems a bit much and expensive fitting a Gold one.

I did look into last year but got nowhere (it's usually like that).

Wiechers do one for the Octavia and i will look into it a little more,maybe a group buy.

Bodge found the Weichers one and they also do roll cages.
