Brake noise in reverse

Featured Replies

Hi All

Have recently taken ownership of a 1.2SE (1000 miles on clock). Have noticed that when braking in reverse there is a "clunk" from the brakes the first time they are pressed but then after that there is no noise if applied again. No noise is evident at all when going forward. Dealership said it was the calipers aligning. Not to sure if I believe them, and it seems to be gettting louder. Anyone else got this clunk?

Cheers

I have similar clunk in reverse. It clunks usually during first 5 meters drive in reverse. Sometimes louder or quieter but the noise is heard almost every time. Dealer has looked but found nothing so far.

Hiya, I have the exact problem, quite a few members also experience similar issue.

I spoke to the dealer and they checked it, it is a known issue to them, it is basically where the pads sliding slighly within the caliper, nothing to worry about. It will go away after some wear on the brakes - mine does that less often now.
