I have a smooth one on mine but tempted to get rid if I'm honest!

I prefer the uber smooth look

My 2004 octy vrs has tha smooth wiper fitted,it will fit on a earlier octy,i replaced my wiper motor with one off a earlier octy & my wiper arm fitted no probs onto the splines.

"the" not "tha" :giggle:

Pics of this grommet situation please?

The grommet just goes in the hole left when you removed the rear wiper unit. I think Halfords sell them and they can be bonded in with black silicon.

You have to take the inside boot trim off and remove the wiper washer / motor unit and plug up the end of the washer fluid hose.

I find the wiper useful though, why would you not want one?

i used a 24mm grommet brought from hafords (pack of 3 assorted) cost £1.80

Having just seen those pics, it looks better without. That's why.

I never use mine because the blade is knackered and it's not something I've been able to find off the shelf. I'm damned if I'm gonna go to Skoda to get raped for an OE blade.

Besides, if you're glass is treated (I use Rain-X, but there's a lot of hate for that on the web) you rarely need one and it makes a mess of the back of your car.

the rear blade wasnt that expensive at skoda from memory. (def under a tenner)

The nice man at Skoda didn't rape me at all, he was a gentleman throughout the whole experience. :p In the end he charged me less than seven pounds and even fitted it and threw the old one in the bin.

As for it looking better, I guess it does if you're going for the smooth and simple look.
