Does anyone know how to dismantle the Drivers Door mirror on a new style Skoda Octavia? I have had the Indicator LED cluster broken by a passing car. I have purchased a new LED unit, but cannot see how to dismantle the mirror housing to get at it. As yet, there is no workshop manual for this model so would appreciate any help / suggestions you may have!

You need to pop out the mirror glass to gain access to the screws...

Here is the step-by-step guide:

1.) position the mirror to its bottommost position, so you can put your fingers between the top of the mirror glass and the coloured plastic housing

2.) carefully pull the mirror towards you, apply gentle pressure and it will pop out, watch out for the heater cables, these are somewhat hard to disconnect

3.) now look at figure S94-0278 and unscrew torx screws marked -1- and -3-

4.) the black arrows are pointing to a plastic teeth which hold the mirror housing, try to pull the housing upwards from the mirror base and unclip these teeth (some unclip easily by pulling the housing, some you need unclip using screwdriver)

5.) now look at figure S94-0281, pull the bulb of mirror light (if it's equipped on your car) marked -2- and uscrew torx screws where the black arrows are pointing

6.) carefully pull the black plastic mirror base downwards, if you have mirror light installed, it will block the access to screws of LED indicator cluster

7.) look at figure S94-0282, unscrew torx screws marked -2- and pull out the mirror light plastic housing from the plastic mirror base

8.) finally unscrew torx screws marked -4- and disconnect the cable to LED indicator

9.) there you go, you have succesfully removed the LED indicator cluster

A few months back I couldn't work out how to do this so I paid £70 including parts to get this done at the dealers. Seems these LED strip indicators are quite vulnerable so thanks for this.
