Airbag light

Featured Replies

Oh dear, the first issue I've had with my Octavia in 10 months of ownership.

Left for work this morning, everything fine. I had friends in the car the night before, so the passenger seat was all the way forward to give more rear legroom. I'm a fussy bugger and a perfectionist though, and I like the seat all the way back when no one is sat there, so while stopped at some traffic lights I leant over and slid it back... then I noticed the airbag light on.

I'm guessing I just disturbed the wiring when I moved it.

The same thing happened in two of my previous cars, both of which were fixed by wiggling the wire under the seat. I can't even see any wiring under the seat of my Octy though!

I tried disconnecting the battery as well but that didn't clear it either (although only for 30 seconds, does it need to be disconnected for longer?)

Oh well, still got a couple of months of dealer warranty left so it's booked in for Tuesday.

I would have suggested the wiring as well, its far more common with 2 door cars though. Best to let the stealers sort it if its under warranty, peace of mind and all that.
