  1. Hi all 2005 Vrs owned since 2 month old and wife’s I’ve been out in it a few times lately and the steering feels awful. I’d describe it has lose, I’ve checked and all looked ok and not long past its MOT When driving if you rock steering wheel left/right it basically does nothing Just feels wrong Anyone any ideas or is it just me with not driving it Cheers all Also the car is totally standard
  2. Cheers evolution and gav for the replies I’ll just stick with the 5w 30 for mine It was I’ve just changed both cars oils and it got me wondering Cheers again
  3. Hi all 2013 2ltr tdi Always changed oil at 10k or yearly with Quantum 5w 30 long life since last dealer service at 5 years old. Wife’s 2005 Fabia vrs has always ran on quantum 5w 40 oil On the Fabia forum it states to run on 5w 40 due to wear Am now wondering with milage at 118k should I consider changing 5w 30 to 5w 40 due to believing its only for emissions etc Any thoughts on this Cheers
  4. Hi It could be a number of things from my experience but you need to find out which one is at fault. Abs sensor Abs rings on rear hubs corroded and breaking ( I’ve had that ) it’s a new hub. Fault on front passenger side, that was a pain. Turned out the harness between the sensor plug and Abs plug has a break in it somewhere. Good job my lad is good with electrics cos he figured it out, but that keeps coming back to haunt me with water getting in the join so looking at replacing that harness section if only I knew where it went 🙄 But as said you need to know which is at fault and yes you’ll get a code showing you fault everytime it faults putting the lights on the dashboard
  5. I’d check that your screen hasn’t come unbonded It’s what happened to mine in drivers top corner. Water was running down inside A pillar trim then in to foot well
  6. Hi all Can anyone actually confirm what the correct level is on this dipstick because the two in the manual don’t match it It’s a 2013 2 Ltr tdi Everytime I change oil I am unsure, changed it today, put 4.3 ltrs in and it was in middle of the cross hatch Am presuming it should be to the top of the cross hatch with the dots 🤔 But a pic on net shows it in the upper grove and can’t seem to find a definite answer Anyone help Cheers
  7. Hi Thanks for that, I’d actually came across that site so knowing someone has used it I’ll have a look again Cheers
  8. Hi all Am after some new hand brake cables has the passenger side keeps freezing on So after Tps telling me they don’t sell to public anymore and the local Skoda dealer (30 miles away) won’t get back to me after phoning three times. So wondering if anyone knows if this is the correct part number for the cables 3T0 609 721 B Also would you know the thermostat for the engine part number ( 2ltr 170bhp tdi ) Cheers all
  9. My crash bar was removed to fit towbar It replaces the crash bar Still got it somewhere in shed
  10. There’s a pipe that comes from the cylinder head to the inlet manifold. There’s a part held in to the inlet with two screws I’ve removed that in the past and it’s been built up May be worth a check
  11. Check your windscreen is still bonded. Turned out to be cause of my soaked foot well. Could push the screen up from inside, water was running down the inside of the A pillar trim
  12. I replaced my EGR Valve a good while back. i took the old one apart to have a look to see what it was like. What it takes to get it off etc I don’t think I’d take the chance off taking it off having a go to fix it and replace it just to fail again.
  13. This will be most likely Tyre Sawing, I’ve had it If you rub your hand over tyre in opposite direction to rotation you will feel it. When I discovered what it was I put rear tyres on front thinking I’ll soon scrub that off 😆 The noise, vibration etc through steering was horrendous so had to change them. Google tyre sawing, think continental tyres give a good explanation. its how the tread leaves the road on rotation and flicks. i now try to not buy tyres without block treads ( if that makes since)
  14. I bet it’s the windscreen, it will have came unbonded. the A trim pillar is easy to get off. I put a hose pipe on roof and left it running to see. After that I discovered I could actually push the screen up slightly from inside
  15. I’ve a 170 bhp superb manual box front wheel drive Doesn’t know the caravans on. i came from a 2.5ltr 20v Volvo 850 and that guzzled petrol, the car had no torque so had to keep the revs up. it used to be well in the minus 20mm at times
