A reminder about locking and the alarm

Featured Replies

Just a friendly reminder to all about the locking / alarm on Fabia's (and probably others).

My vRS got broke in to last night. Work laptop (in an ordinary looking rucksack, not a laptop bag) and iPod stolen, drivers window smashed. The alarm didn't go off.... as I have got in to the habit of 'double locking' it, thinking that deadlocked it... but actually it appears it turns off the alarm motion sensor thing.

I'm not sure what else triggers the alarm.... I'd have thought there was some other sensors, but it didn't go off.

Time to get out of the habit of pressing that lock button twice! (errr... and taking stuff out of the car!!).

Too late, But the car double locks automatically on the first press! Two presses disables the double lock and the interior sensors!

It is mentioned in the manualemoticon-0124-worried.gif

Nobody takes any notice of car alarms these days anyway, so it probably wouldn't have made any difference :(

^^^ correct...

and leaving any items on show is an invitation...

Are you kidding! I have been pressing twice since I got it

;)

Sorry to hear about that Mark :( and thanks for the heads up.

how many times do you hear a car alarm and ignore it?!!! some chavs round my way hear car alarms and beatbox and rap because they think its a "phat tune" mind you i would rather listen to 3mins of car alarm than 3 mins of radio 1!

I double locked mine when I first got it but after finding out that it disabled the alarm I soon stopped that !

I've got a nice big fat disklok on it now aswell :D

This is one thread im glad iv read!!

ive got security tints on mine now just search on youtube if you want to know what it does :giggle:B)

Skoda dealer told me to hit button twice to lock vehicle for added security. hmmm!!!

The Briskoda site members say once, as this site is more reliable only hit button once now, when locking car up.
