Can I check my car is set to variable service?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I'm picking up my 3rd Octy vRS on friday and want to know if I can physically check if it is set to variable serving before I drive it away? I'm buying from a different dealer than my previous ones and they haven't been that helpful during the ordering process. I've asked them on numerous occasions to leave it on variable but with all the stories of dealers changing it to fixed I want to be sure. I thought it takes a thousand or so miles from new for the ecu to give you a predicted servicing mileage so that can't be used, but will the days to service readout work from new and if so what should it read?

Cheers

When you turn off the engine, keep your key in, then press the mileage reset button for a couple of seconds..if your'e on variable, it will tell you how many miles/days until service
