changing drivers side seat in octavia mk2

Featured Replies

hi,iam thinking of changing the drivers side seat in my octavia which is on a 2006.I think the seats are very uncomfortable after a long journey my legs and back hurt.

Can i use any other cars seats which are comfortable.also will it be easy to fit.Your help is much appreciated.

Yes. You fit aftermarket Recaros or other VAG A5 platform seats without hassle. You can fit other VAG seats such as B7 RS4s with minor mods. For back pain, I believe the Recaro Expert is a very good seat. I also find the Sportster CS very comfortable. You need to sit in them yourself though obviously to decide. I've got the number of the Recaro rep if you want it - they should still be able to offer 20% off list.

which cars are vag a5 platform.can you pm the no please.will i have to just take the old one out and put the new one in.

Thanks for your reply.

Undo the 4 torx bolts first making sure the keys are not in the ignition, then get into the back and gently push the seat forward whilst looking under it, there you will see the airbag cable and the seat belt warning cable unclasp them then remove the seat, you may need a small torx bit to undo the seat belt anchorage from the seat to swap it over, refit in reverse, don't turn the ignition on until the airbag cable is connected or you will have a warning on the dash

Seats from the VW golf and Audi A4 will swap strait over and from 1 of the Seats
