real world difference between Mk11 & FL octy & also vRS

Featured Replies

Hi All

I've done a search but can't find the answer, but if it has already been asked & answered, please point me in the right direction.

I have a 97,000 mile 2006, 55 reg L&K estate.

It is time to change. I'm currently looking at the whole Skoda range, love the Superb, having test driven it yesterday, but the octy FL is VAT free at the moment............so I could save around £7k buying an octy again over the Superb. But I also like the idea of the Yeti 4x4 with dsg after the last 12 months bad weather....

Whatever I buy has to be automatic (DSG)

My question is this:

Has the road noise improved and the overall quietness & comfort & refinement improved on the octy 11? (ie difference between MK5 & MK6 Golf)

What is the vRS like comfort wise & road noise?

Your 2p's worth please...

Thanks,

Mike

There have been no real improvements in road noise or refinement as essentialy the pre FL and FL cars are the same underneath (just a few little cosmeic differences).

The VRS will be a little harsher in terms of ride comfort and a little nosier (lower profile tyres) compared to your current L&K. You need to test drive one to see if these differences are acceptable to you or not. I have had 3 VRSs and feel the ride comfort/noise is more than acceptable but it may not be for you.
