thinking of buying a vrs

Featured Replies

hi all,

been looking for a new car, currently have 1.6 honda civic se sport 2001 and like the vrs, but how long will the go on for? i dont want to buy one and then when ready to sell it wont as will have 13/150k on the clock, what would you reccommend the max milage to buy one say 2002 to 2005 age be? seen a nice o4 plate with 106k on the clock would it be worth it? or would it be being repaird all the time?

Cheers

Ryan

Welcome to the forums.

Mine has now done 131k (had it since 85k) and has been very reliable, yes things have failed but they've all been wear and tear things like brakes, suspension etc, just like any high mileage car so you just have to be prepared for that or look out for an example that has recently had those things replaced. Also if you are going to keep it for a couple of years don't expect to be able to sell it on for anything much. Mine was bought for £5000 but is probably worth barely £2000 now with the mileage. I'm probably just going to keep it and run it into the ground.

Guessing its a fabia vRS? If its worrying you that much wait until one with lower miles comes up! Its a waiting game as at the moment people arent wanting to sell the fabias, and the prices seemed to have increased recently!

Hi Ryan, welcome to the forum :hi:

Simple advice

Drive one then decide - with a Skoda the heart can rule the head as youre not going to have sky high fuel bills along with crippling insurance for a car that you can have a it of fun in occasionally.
