FL Estate rear boot cover noise.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I'm new to the forum and have an 09 FL Elegance Estate.

I have a problem with the retractable boot cover.

If the cover is not extended and is coiled up in its housing ie. when the dog is in the back there is no noise.

When the cover is fully extended i have a noise when turning corners or going around roundabouts.

It sounds like there is something loose (a small screw or similar) sliding from one side to the other as the housing is virtually empty.

It's very annoying.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Could this be sorted under warrenty?

Is the cover easy to remove, check?

Regards

Eric

My 59 FL Elegance Estate doesn't make the noise you describe. I'd take it to the dealer if nobody else has any suggestions, it should be covered by the warranty.

I will do.

I've taken it out and there is definately something loose inside the housing.

The ends are spring loaded but not obvious if they clip off.

I reckon it will either be a 5 minute job for the dealer or they'll need to order a new one (hopefully on the warrenty).
