Hi there everyone i have got a 1998 octavia 1.6 , ive only had it a few months its has full service history it is about due for a service but the car just doesn't seem to want to rev past 5k and it seems to struggle from 1.5k to 2k, And it also has the central locking problem where it wont lock/unlock from the drivers side have to open from passenger side to open all doors and boot or open from boot but it doesn't open the passenger door from that .

any help i will be very grateful

your engine hits max torque a couple of hundred before five thou and is not really designed for red line chasing, however if its due a service a new air filter and a throttle body clean should smooth the rev count.

theres allready a very good how to in the guides on the central locking issues.
