Car loaded up for a 3 week camping holiday and two push bikes hung on the tow bar. Oops , slept through the 2 am alarm and hit the road at 3.50am. Pedal well down as I reckoned we could still catch the ferry (which we did easily) . But 38mpg to Dover? Stayed at that level for most of our French autoroute trips but at least 130kph was legal.
