Brake warning light

Featured Replies

Just come back from a 2500 mile trip across Europe, as usual the car was wonderful and drove faultlessly. Since returning on Sunday I have been using it daily, however, the wife was driving the car this evening and phoned me to tell me that she had a number of lights appear on the dash. When she got home I too saw the lights, ABS EPS & BRAKE SYSTEM lights. She also said that there was a number of beeps while she was driving. I checked the manual and it seems that it could be the brake system or brake fluid. Oh, the refuel light also appeared randomly when we have over 1/4 of a tank left.

I checked the brake fluid immediately , all fine, the took the car around the block and no lights appeared at all, breaks and brake pedal worked well without any difference from when I drove it earlier in the day, no fee play etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like an ABS sensor fault?

I dont suppose on the information display that the car status is showing? and maybe warning the driver? just a thought

No nothing on the status. Drove it around today and no probs, all lights stayed off. May just have been an electrical glitch.

You have checked the brake fluid is above half way between min and max ?

I've seen cars be above min, but ping when on a slope or cold before.

Where in the UK are you, as I think a scan with VCDS is probably a good starting point to look for the fault codes.
