Latest mods and pics.

Ok Folks a few pics and details of recent bits and pieces I have fitted to my motor.

Not so much performance parts, as refinement parts.

As my motor had not had anything modded or worked on for at least 2 months I was getting board. :giggle:

So I fitted a Forge short shifter, a Gear linkage bracket bush kit and a Turbo lower intercooler pipe to replace the pancake pipe

Pic of the standard VRS gear shifter and linkage

Forge Short Shifter with the 3 optional fitting adapters(depending on which one you have fitted to the car)

Difference between the 2 gear shifters

Original shifter removed

Forge short shifter fitted and in place

Easy job to do and happy with results, Gear shift is a lot less gear throw

Next was the Verdict Motorsport gear shift bushings

I heard about these whilst browsing the VW forums and also our Rob's website as he has these fitted. Ordered from this US website at approx $22 did not break the bank so I gave it a go.

Again easy to fit

Then I reset the gear box linkage

good vid here which is helpful.

Overall, not sure what difference I found with these as I fitted at the same time as the Forge short shifter so difficult to gauge.

Will also look at getting the shifter bushing kit to compliment the gear linkage improvements from this company.

again courtesy of our Rob’s original website for ideas.

Lastly was to fit the VW Golf Jetta 1.8T 99-04 Lower Intercooler Pipe Piping

Purchased on EBay. Through to the states

Both hose clip’s undone to allow removal of pancake pipe

And pipe removed

Got the Forge shifter on mine set at halfway makes a great improvement, still deciding whether to shorten it further too see what it's like. What setting did you choose?

Glad I encouraged you to spend on mods :D

Hi,

Doesn't the lower turbo-intercooler pipe now catch on the wheel when on a full lock???

I think i left it on shortest setting. Nice feel, but little notchy so may drop it back a bit. Having said that i rushed the linkage setting so will go through that again soon.

Glad I encouraged you to spend on mods :D

Yep Rob stop modding yours and then i won't mod mine..... :giggle:

Well I haven't made any mods for over a month now! SWMBO has forbidden it until after baby comes.

But once we get back to a semblance of normality (in what, 2, 3 years!??!??!) :D

I have new engine mounts to fit, braided fuel lines for bling, evap relocation, more engine parts to remove and paint, alternator belt to replace.

Not to mention the huge wishlist I have, if I ever have any money ever again.

Not when you have kids Rob

Thats the main reason why I'm selling mine :'(

There will be no normality Rob until they move out, :giggle:

Mine are 2, 6, 16 and 21 and i don't know which one is the most hassle :dull: Actually SWMBO will say me :D

Funny trying to get them all in the VRS though when the older 2 want to be associated with there parents.
