Octavia 2 coilover opinions please

Featured Replies

Hi all i know there will be threads on coilovers for the Octavia 2 VRS, but wondering what opinions people have now after fitting (and living with) them for a while and what the best value for money set are out there at the moment.

Dont want my teeth shattered but looking for little body roll and have between £400 and £500 to spend.

Also if anyone has an opinion on a good value ARB set then be grateful. Cheers

few questions first

1-why do you think you need coilovers?

2-do you do track days, if so how often?

3-how low do you want to go? (the lower the harsher the ride will become as you compress the springs and limit the damper travel)

4-what is your aim for the car?

if you interested in sorting up the handling read my post #8 in this thread

1. Had Koni FSD' with Eibach springs on my well modified leon cupra and was happy with the ride and handling on it but would have liked it a little lower and if i can get a good ride quality and flat handling while also being able to adjust the height as required (be lower with normal driving and it i need to tow etc then can raise the back up slightly).

2. Going to be doing a few track days a year in this car eventually and also live near the welsh race track, the Brecon Beacons :).

3. About 30-35mm i am guessing at the momment. Car will be with me next week so will see the standard ride height and go from there.

4. Over the next year will be heavily modifying the car (brakes, suspension, exhaust with cat, s3 intercooler and stage 2 remap) and eventually planning the APR Stage 3.

I will be the only bloke taking my dog for a walk and will have to put a crash helmet on him :) lol.

I will have a read of your post now mate.
