Carpet removal

Featured Replies

I'm planning to take the carpets out in the cabin to pop some soundproofing in, and wonder if there are any guides or how-to's out there?

I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into before I start. I've done this before on my Citroen AX, but I suspect the Octybus will be a little bit trickier. I don't want to cut carpet or break fittings; I want to do it properly

If anyone has a rough idea of how long it takes to get in out and back in (one bloke, old and overweight, working steadily) I can guess at the dynamatting time and work out how long to allow. I was surprised that doing the boot floor and in behind all the side panels of the boot took about 5 hours

Oh, and if anyone's done the roof lining too...

I've had many interiors apart. Basically all the trims and seats need to come out. Start with the seats as this then gives you room to move about. Centre console, glovebox and drivers undertray, sill trims need to come up then the carpet and underlay pull out normally though the boot is best.

Headlining is a case of taking off the a b and c pillar trims and grab handles, interior light and sunvisors removed it's a case of popping it down off the door seals and out the boot.
