Car is gone mad!

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I have an 03 octy vrs I have it about 7 months now and its been better than I ever imagined  But in the last week some strange problems have started to happen and I cant help but think they may be connected.

First off my windscreen wipers decided that they only come on now when they feel like it. When I turn them on it sometimes takes about 20 sec for them to come on and sometimes even 5 min!!! Once they come on though they work ok. I presumed it was the motor starting to go and was just waiting on time to getting round to sorting it. Next thing to go wrong was my passenger side Zenon started to come on and off randomly. I guessed the bulb was loose so I opened it to inspect it but all seems ok. Then my alarm started playing up too . . . when I locked my car before with the remote the indicators used to give a single flash, but that has now decided it only flashes when it wants to!!! :'( and finally the last straw was tonight when one of the back doors did not unlock with the rest of the car. I tried it from the remote, the drivers door and also the inside of the door itself but it would not open. After going the shops and coming back it then unlocked with the rest of the car. If anyone has any comments or advice please do let me know as I would like to get this sorted. Thanks

Any ideas at all??

Door locks and alarm could be Central locking unit. Wipers sound like a problem with the stalk.

Or with all the problems being electrical could be a bad earth.

I read somewhere before that this model suffers from water damage to a loom located in the drivers door is this a possibility???
