Wired FM modulators

Featured Replies

In my quest to fit my find a way to connect my Ipod and Pure Highway DAB to my Bolero in my Octavia SE I contacted a company that specialises with aftermarket ipod connections:

http://www.ipodcarkitdirect.co.uk/iPod_Car_Kit/Universal_FM_Modulator/DICE_FM-RDS_Modulator

The company claim these will give near CD quality , your aerial is electronically blocked out so interference. There is a cheaper connects 2 version but I'll just look at these two for now. Firstly will they work as well as they say? 2nd which is best? I need Ipod and Aux connection.3rd will it work with the bolero screen and or maxi dot. I really don't want to wast my money here. My other idea is a parrot bluetooth with the connections but as its double the price and I don't use my phone in the car I can't see the point.

Many thanks

Shouldnt be needed. Pure Highwy should tune FMwireless to your FM radio on a preset. Sound quality is better than I expected. You then have an 3.5mm stereo input jack for Auxillary input on the Pure dab for your Ipod

So you have Bolero already? And therefore an aux-in connection already in the car?

if so then just use a standard 3.5mm phone cable to connect from the Highway to the aux-in point on the car. Costs less than £5.

You can also play your ipod through the same connector, although it doesnt show details on the headunit - You can use the SD card in the Bolero for that.

Hi Keith, I have the SE trim it dosen't have the aux in fitted,. Yes I use the sd card, but already have a 32gb itouch (bought before I got my beloved Octavia) thats not being used so much now. As for the highway I tried the fm transmitter it will even transmit the ipod but its not good quality. Thats why I was thinking about this option.

hi there i use the connects2 fm modulator the one with the ipod lead, i has always worked fine and now most my family and some friends have bouht them. hope this makes it easier

Well I've had the dension ice link modulator fitted today. Had to buy an dual fakra convertion cable. (ask the company on tha above link) seems to work great with my Ipod touch. I'd recommend one if you're interested. Seen them cheap on ebay. just don't forget the dual fakra cable you need to ask the ipod people in the link couldn't get it elsewhere I think they made it.
