Skoda Servicing Package

Featured Replies

Hi,

my local Skod dealers seem to be "pushing" a two year servicing package. To quote from their brochure "A 2 year Servicing Package wprth £450 for £299, including £100 worth of vouchers to spend ...".

The plan includes - a standard service, a major service, a brake fluid change, a spark plug change (no good for my diesel car) and an air filter change over 2 years or 20,000 mile (whichever comes first). They are also ghive £100 worth of vouschers to spend on Skoda parts, accessories or merchandise.

I currently do 20,000 miles/year and my latest car is on fixed servicing. My thoughts are that it would be a better deal if I could change to variable servicing.

Has anyone any experience of this offer or does anyone have any comments.

Regards

whereabouts in the country are you ??

If you do 20k a year then you'll get a 10k service (oil+filter and not much else) and the same again at 20k (only a simple service again). If your on variable you'll get one service only (17-18k miles ish), So If I understand correctly, you'd be paying £299 and getting only 1 variable service in return - Does not seem like a good deal to me.

As its 20k/2 years whatever comes first, if you cover 20k before 2 years then thats the end of the deal. Brake fluid not due until 2 years (3 on some models) so I cant see them changing that before 2 years have elapsed.

I was offered this deal for my VRS and rejected it instantly. I'm on variable (due @18k ish) and that'll cost about £200 ish according to quotes I have had. I cant see what extra I would get by paying £299 for a package that would only get me one service.

maybe I am missing something?!
