Best/cheapest place to buy a new caliper?

Featured Replies

where's the best place to buy a front caliper new ? Might consider 2nd hand off eBay

As you're remapped Chris - I personally wouldn't bother replacing the 'squeaky caliper'.

I suggest upgrading to some 312mm brakes - much better all round and I wouldn't have thought that it would be much more expensive than purchasing brand new standard Fabia caliper.

I'm watching a set on eBay the 312 upgrade but the discs look all rusted and they would need painted so need some lime green caliper paint

I have a spare pair of calipers of an Ibiza FR...nearly new tbh...know its a distance but if you wanna collect or arrange collection you can have the pair for a tenner or somthing.

Sadly too far to collect, donno if a courier would collect from you then deliver

yeh they would....APC overnight would do a collection. I can arrange for it to go through courier if you dont mind paying for it, be about another tenner I reckon. They are red not green though and have been sat in my garage for about 2 year, just kept them as spares.

painting the calipers is a doddle and any surface rust on the discs would shift when the brakes are applied.

Do not underestimate the power of the 312s - they are awesome brakes and (imo) an essential upgrade.

"Best" and "cheapest" don't necessarily go together. "Best" would be a Skoda dealer because you know you'd be buying the right part and it would be new so working. "cheapest" barring generous offers on here might be Ebay but you don't know really what you're getting do you? That said I've had bits for my previous bike's brakes from dealers on Ebay and they've been fine though still quite pricey...

Monies a bit tight at the moment keep those calipers for me, if the 312 kit on eBay gets too high I'll arrange to collect the ones you have - think the auction has two days to go
