a while ago i posted about my octy having wet carpets in the drivers footwell.since then ive had a new door membrain,door rubber and ive taken the scuttle panel off and cleaned it out and put sealent around the bonnet cable ect.after two days of heavy rain the carpets wet again grrrr.so any other ideas.oh i forgot to say the carpets wet by the front of the sill trim just by the pedal

has the car got a sun roof is it parked on a hill?

I have the same problem on a Polo. It's due to the sunroof drain channels being blocked. There should be 2 holes either side of the sunroof which you'll see with it open from the top on the outside which lead down to somewhere near the front wing for the water to drain off. Try and get a coat hanger or similar to try and move whatever is blocking it.

I would try removing the scuttle panels, poor some water in and check it drains away on both sides. One place water can get in is the connection box above the pedals.

Do the same with the sunroof. Poor some water into the channel and check it drains correctly

It's hard to solve this kind of problem without water.

had this on my mrk4 golf gti open up the front doors have alook for a bit of rubber hose will prob be full of crap mine was i choped the end off two as it was flat and not letting any water out .

Then i took a bit of the head lining down its easy and got a air line down there .

cheers for the replys the car dosnt have a sun roof it will be saturday before i can take it apart
