problems with drivers door

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have strange problem with my drivers door. When i click unlock option on my alarm sometimes door open sometimes not. With key working perfectly and also other doors working in both cases. Model of octavia iz mk1 2005 tour.

Can any one have some advice !? :'(

p.s. light in cabin and door working ok when i open drivers door.

Tnx :S

Hi, Use the search option this is a common problem with the Central Control Unit which is located in the drivers door, water ingress gets into the connections and corrodes the pins. if you catch it early enough a good amount of WD40 and a good scrub up can solve the problem, and then you can waterproof the CCU after to prevent the same thing happening again.

If you are too late ( which i am, have been opening the door with a key since i bought the car ) a new part and loom is needed which will set you back around £350 - £400 if you are lucky.
