just wondering where on an 09 vrs would the MDI unit need to be fitted? I have read that some were in the jumbo box and later FL ones in the glove box. Is that right?

Also, how easy is it to fit the MDI unit?

It could be fitted in either location. You'd need a loom from the back of the MDI unit, to the back of the stereo. I know Kufatec sell them. Check with your dealer too, but I suspect that's where SUK will get them from anyway, so you might as well go direct.
