Fabia Symphony CD changer

Featured Replies

Greetings everyone

Have finally got my order in for Fabia 1.4 16v- should be a big improvement over our current 8v model, though that has been fine.

Replaced the tape head in the current car with a Blaupunct tape head & 10 disc changer, which has worked very well.

This is now earmarked for our MGB roadster (when welding is finished and all the bits are screwed together).

I would like to keep the Symphony HU on the new car and self fit a reasonable cd changer, but would be grateful if any one could give me a definitive answer re which one etc would be compatible with the latest HUs.

Has all got a little confusing with the various threads and wedsites I have seen.

As far as I know, the only CD changer that works with a Skoda Symphony HU is the Skoda one :(

Inversely, if you have the OEM CD changer and decide to change the HU, I don't think any will work apart from possibly Alpine who make converters for OEM changers.

You could be right, but some websites seem to indicate that adaptors can be used, but refer to Grundig made HUs, and I'm not sure if the latest OEM Heads are still by the same manufaturer. However, if someone has a Skoda cd changer going spare, I may be interested. :)
