Help needed winter tyre/steel rims

Featured Replies

I picked up my new Octy VRS last week and have brought it over to Germany and all of a sudden a white blanket has covered the roads.

I could do with getting some winter tyres on steel rims, but really unsure of what size to go for.

Have been looking on this website, but not sure if this anygood as it doesn't seem to list my vehicle

Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated!!

Which vRS? As in, which engine? There appears to be a 2.0 petrol, a 2.0 common-rail diesel and a 2.0 PD diesel, and the diesels may come in various power outputs. Your car handbook or a label in the boot should tell you which power output.

You also need to know that 15" wheels don't fit over 312mm front disks but are OK over 288mm disks, so it may be useful to know which front disks are fitted, (I think it is model specific).

16" is the smallest possible on any MKII vRS, regardless of engine/output. Any 16" steelies from Golf MK5/Leon MK II/Audi with 5x112 PCD should fit, with 205/55/16 the recommended tyre size.

It is the VRS 2.0 Petrol TFSi, Not a clue about the disc size

Hi

205/55/16 is the best size.

They will be 312mm, if not you've been had! :giggle:

The site in your original post looks very similar to My Tyres they do steel wheel/tyre combi's but tbh you would be better off checking the bay for a used set of 16" alloy wheels, and getting the rubber independently, there are lots that will fit the Octy, look out for 5 x 112 for the stud info.
