Single / all door unlocking

Featured Replies

Hi, been lurking on here for a while now, great site, and now its time for my first question!

Yesterday I picked up a 3 month old estate, 170 elegance and am loving it, however there is one thing that is driving me mad....

As standard one press of the keyfob opens just the drivers door, however I'd like it to open all doors.

On my old passat I could change this via the MFD, but I cant find the option on the superb.

Is the option there and ive missed it or is it a trip back to the dealer (45 miles away) to have it coded?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply,

I did see that in the manual, and that section of the MFD seems to effect the auto locking of the doors when you drive off.

I will have another play.

That drove me nuts too as I put my laptop bag behind the drivers seat I needed the rear door to open.

Rest assured you can set it to open all the doors with one button press.

Seems like gizmo68 was correct. not entirly sure which option it was in that area but its fixed now.

Thanks!

I have mine set to unlock the drivers side only (front and rear), that way I can put my laptop bag in the bag and still keep the passenger side and boot locked.

I didn't realise there were other options. I thought it was just driver's door or everything. This car is full of surprises!

Seems it is per key too.

Mine now opens both, yet othe half's key only opens the drivers door.

Everything you set on the Maxidot is "per key". I had my car delivered with one key making a sound when you lock it (ATA Confirm in the menu) and the other key did not. So I had to do all the settings for my key, and then redo them all for the other half's key.

Is there no way of programming one key, then somehow swapping the keys whilst pressing a sequence of buttons, scratching your nose and patting your head... to make all the settings transfer to the other key...?
