15000 km (9375 miles) service?

Featured Replies

Just wonder about your opinion regarding my 1st service.

Bought the car mid last month which was an ex-demo but only had 85 km (53 miles) on the clock so it was virtually new.

Looked in my service schedule book and it says: Next inspection service 15000 km (9375 miles) or 8/2/11 (1st rego was 8/2/10) whichever comes first.

I`ve only covered 2000 km (1250 miles) so far and can not see myself drive more than 4-5000 km until February does that mean I still have to bring it in for a 1st service?

What would they do at the service since the oil is not supposed to be drained until 15K km`s?

Thought I ask your opinions before I confront Skoda Australia.

Cheers.

I did the service at 15.000km, but i did those in 4 months all over Europe. It is advisable to do it at the end of 1 year of driving or 15K km, whichever comes first.

There is nothing wrong changing the oil/filter even at 4000km if you been driving it 12 months.

My first service included oil change, oil filter, pollen filter, and some other things.

Just thought it would be a waste of money (AUD300-500) for a service not even after 3 months of driving, besides I heard that the oil that is in from the beginning should not be touched since it is special break in oil until 15K km mark.

You still have to follow up the instructions of the manual or dealer, because of warranty. Sure you might as well talk to them when time comes and see what's advisable.

For the special break in oil, I changed mine after 4000km after giving it some serious driving. Don't worry about that.
