Multiplex wiring is annoying me

Featured Replies

Evening or morning to all who read this post.

I currently have a Octavia Elegance 2.0 ltr tdi 103kw on a 59 plate.

I have recently upgraded some of the lights in and around the vehicle and have found the bulb failure light is coming on. I have used supposedly canbus safe w5w leds on the tail lights. 2 x C5W canbus safe festoon on the reg plate plus canbus safe w5w for sidelights.

Unfortunately i have not erradicated the light on the dahboard

I would so be eternally grateful if somebody could help me who is in Merseyside with vcds and a hex can lead

regards Paul

Sorry, can't help you with VCDS.

How do the LED tail lights look?

I understood that the rear light clusters rely on the reflection from the internal reflective lenses and therefore do not work very well with directional LED's which appear much less bright.

How have you overcome the single filament dual purpose brake/tail and fog/tail bulbs?

There are quite a few threads on others having problems with so called CANBUS friendly LED W5W front side light bulbs either not working or throwing up the dash warning lights.

I think some kind of recoding with VCDS helps as you suggest. I'm sure someone will be along with more information soon...
