I think you would struggle to find a 1080 HD tv at this price and to be honest you would struggle to tell the difference. It depends what your using the tv for. The benefit of 1080 is only really of notice when you have a larger screen. The Aqous engine is a very good piece of kit and I would take this tv over a cheap branded 1080. It really is a nice unit but just not big enough for our livingroom and a bit too big for our bedroom. As I said it can be seen working to prove the point
