Standard Alarm - how does it work!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I had the dog in the car when I nipped into the shops for a five minute milk run during the latest cold snap (so no need to have a window open, - yes, am aware of having dogs in a parked car etc. so please, no lectures!), came back to the alarm going off. So I tried it again at home and same thing happened. Dog is in a crate in car so doesn't jump about, actually it falls asleep as soon as it gets in the car usually.

So I was wondering how the standard alarm works? Have never noticed any movement sensors inside and can't imagine it rocked the car much if it has a gyro type sensor. Or is it just faulty and this is the first it's manifested itself?!

There is an interior monitoring sensor behind the interior light.

If you want to stop the alarm going off either press the button on the drivers side b post before you leave the car or press the lock button twice on your remote.

All explained in the manual

Voltage drop and ultrasonic in interior light - if you look at the interior light you can see the grille where the sensor is.
