Brake Fluid Loss

Featured Replies

I seem to be losing brake fluid, Ive gone through a litre since Christmas. The weather has stopped me having a lok til now. The floor has been wet for some time so I cant really identify any patches on the floor. What are good places to look for leaks?, are there any regular culprits? Could it be a symptom of bigger problems?

Many thanks for any help

Id personally would not be driving a car thats used 1 litre of brake fluid,id get it in to a garage or inspected asap,it could be either a leaking brake caliper or brake pipe or possibly the abs pump, have you had any work done to the brakes recently? also as the clutch hydraulic system shares the same reservoir you could just have a leaking slave or master cylinder.

I have just seen your reply to another post,if you have had your abs pump repaired id be looking in that area 1st forleaks.

I'd not drive a car with any brake fluid leakage. It's simply dangerous. Had fluid leakages and brake failure several times over the decades.

Get advice ASAP.
