Brake Noise?

Featured Replies

I've got an 05 2.5tdi tiptronic elegence 60k miles. New brakes were fitted all round last August. I've noticed a noise like a rubbing/squealing noise from the passenger side when driving, sounds a bit like a fan belt noise but it's not, usually starts after a few miles and is noticable mostly above 30mph. As soon as I touch the brake peddle it stops only to return again, thus it's not fan belt and looks like a brake issue. I also notice brake squealing when I've just about stopped. Thought it may have been a stone caught in a disk so the garage that i use tried compressed air to blow around brakes but to no avail. Any ideas anyone? I'm a bit worried that the new brakes fitted may not have been the genuine thing and this maybe the cause as I had no problems before. I'm also a little sceptical of the garage.

Shine a torch through the wheels and see what make of pads have been fitted.
