Superb2 loudspeakers

Featured Replies

Hello to you all,

Do you know what size loudspeakers fit to Superb 2 front doors? Are they standard size or something else?

I was thinking to change them to better ones.

I have changed my Octavia2 door speakers to better ones and changed also the condensators (electrical part) in the standard tweeters.

That resulted in a much better sound quality.

best regards from Finland :smirk:

I think that part of the problem with the door speakers on the Superb 2 is the position - on the Superb 1 they are close to the door hinges so are directed into the footwell. On the Superb 2 they are much further along the door and are pretty much firing into the seats and driver. Acoustically this was never going to be a great idea.

When you want to install new speakers in your Superb it may be interesting to know that somebody who wanted to save halve a penny has decided that the speakers are mounted with rivets :( and not with normal screws....

Rivets make sense from an engineering standpoint as they are highly resistant to vibration.

From a modding point of view, they are a pain in the ass.

If they are bog standard pop type rivets they can be drilled out with relative ease - provided you can get to them to drill out in the first place.

Then replace with new rivets once the speakers are replaced. That's the theory anyway. I am considering replacing the speakers on my Superb, positioning aside they just can't handle even moderate levels off bass without distorting.

Sorry but I don't know the speaker size but I will aim for at least 40/50w jobbies so they can more than cope with the 20w output from the Columbus. I would think the factory speakers are 20w poop.

Rivets is no problem. Takes 10 sec to drill out. Use a vacuum cleaner together with the drill. Otherwise the small drilled metal pieces may end up on the speaker magnet. The new speakers should also be mounted with rivets.

BTW: My Superb with the 10 speaker option has a quite good sound. The default EQ settings was not the best for my taste, but after a little tuning I find it okay.

I have a Bolero+Soundsystem and I am not happy at all)I think that the 10 speaker system is worse than a 8 speaker one).

Here is the example of my car sound:

I can not play with EQ settings if I want to play music and expect noiseless sound.

Does enibody else has same problem? Local Dealer has strugled a couple times, but factory basicly says that I imagine my problem and does not suport my problem?

HI Janek85 ,

I have noisy Bolero+Soundsystem from from passenger door.

I asked Skoda Service to fix it with KESSY issue but noise is still there.

Look like no one touch it at all, and not best building quality and I dont think it worse then 8 speakers.

Hi, I have the upgraded sound system, and I have also been having noise issues with the quality orchid sound. This was until I realised the keys and other items I had in the door card were causing the distortion. I do not store stuff in the doors now, and the sound has greatly improved. Looking at the short video, if the guy empties his door of rubbish, it will improve matters.

Just read the post, I meant to say 'quality of the sound' nothing to do with orchid. Bloody iPhone predictive text.
