Hi, I've got a symphony headunit, and the radio reception is pants! Receptions fine in other cars though?

What could cause crap reception?

It used to be bearable with my little stubby aerial, got worse, so I changed to. Standard aerial, but the receptions still fuzzy in areas.....

My reception has got progressively worse in the past 2 months.

Pulled head unit out in case of detached aerial cable, but was all ok.

Next sep is to try and check condition of the connection in the aerial base itself - perhaps this has become corroded.

Yeah, that'd be a good explanation for it. Have you got any idea how to take off the aerial base to inspect it? Is it a big job?

HI GOT THE SAME PROBLEMS ON MY 07 FABIA VRS SE.MAIN DEALER SAYS IT COULD BE AMP UNIT IN THE AERIAL, ANY IDEAS! IT,S ABOUT £70 TO BUY BUT IS IT DIFFICULT TO CHANGE. RADIO 2 AND LOCAL HEART STATION IS RUBBISH AND THE RADIO CONTINUALLY DEFAULTS TO RADIO 1. AM AND LW IS UNAFFECTED.I LIVE IN NORWICH. ANYBODY GOT ANY IDEAS!
