pearls of wisdom needed!

I hope one of the vrs gurus here can advise me :(

I have a octavia 2.0 petrol vrs estate mk2 (2007) with a broken air intake system. It's broken both at the front mounting point above the fan and also further along the ducting where 2 self tappers have come away from a joint. I have been trying to find a replacement (have a wanted ad on this site) without much joy. So can anyone tell me my options?

1) will the Mk1 air intake fit OK (lots of bits around for sale for the mk1)

2) what other vw models would have a suitable bit?

3) if I'm not able to get a second hand part where is best to get a new replacement?

4) since I need a replacement would it be worth getting one of the (expensive) performance options i.e. carbon fibre from an improvement in mpg perspective

Many thanks in advance for any pointers.

The MK1 intake won't fit and I suspect that the intakes from the MK5 Gti and Seat Leons are slightly different due to varing sized engine bays (could be wrong there though). To buy direct from Skoda isn't going to be cheap so I would go for a CAI. The ITG and Evoms are highly regarded.
