brake pads and discs

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm totally unmechanical if that's a word and in the past have always let my dealer sort the pads and discs out but with things as they are I need to save some dough so first question is how do I check the pads and discs and also how easy are they to replace for some one like me who has no clue. I'm finding it difficult to see how much are left on the pads? Do I need to take the wheel off to check them properly. Help me? I'm so ashamed

Even if you know what the disc and pad thickness are, would you fit them yourself.??

With some simple tools and a well supported vehicle, the job could be easily carried-out, as a DIY.

If you peer through spokes of road wheel, should give you a good view as to whether the pads need replacing.

Failing that, remove wheel, and have a closer inspection.

Plenty of help from this site. if you decide to carry-out the job yourself.

Good luck.emoticon-0148-yes.gif
